General Information
Kaduna South Local Government Area is a vibrant and densely populated LGA that forms a major part of the Kaduna metropolis in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in Makera.
The area was originally carved out of the old Kaduna Capital Territory. Its growth is intrinsically linked to the development of Kaduna as a major administrative and industrial hub in Northern Nigeria.
The LGA expanded rapidly as people migrated to work in its textile industries and government sectors, creating the vibrant, multicultural communities seen today. It has an area of 59 km² and an estimated population of 606,000 (2016 estimate).
